Essentia Health Foundation serves as an umbrella for local foundations within Essentia Health, building on common strengths and providing economies of scale. Essentia Health Foundation was established in July 2011 with the merger of the Innovis, Essentia Community Hospitals and Clinics and SMDC foundations. However, local control is what we’re all about. Donors continue to designate their gifts for local needs through their local Essentia Health foundations.
Our goals at Essentia Health Foundation include building upon our culture of philanthropy, increasing fundraising, acting as a resource to local foundations and the Essentia system, and reducing costs to local foundations. We also intend to build efficiencies and share best practices with our local foundations.
