Essentia Health St. Joseph’s-Brainerd Clinic welcomes neurology practitioner Alicia Lorensen

Alicia Lorensen, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner in neurology, is thrilled to join the Essentia Health St. Joseph's-Brainerd Clinic.

“I have worked at Essentia for the past three years while I was completing my advanced practice degree,” said Lorensen. “I wanted to continue working with the organization that supported me and made it possible for me to obtain my licensure.”

Lorensen received her education from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

“I have a special interest in serving underserved populations as well as rural health care,” said Lorensen. “A large amount of my nursing career was spent in long-term care in a rural community. I understand the importance of having specialty care available at a reasonable distance for people to travel to.”
