Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center welcomes pediatric hospitalist Dr. Gabrielle Hester

Dr. Gabrielle Hester, a pediatric hospitalist, is thrilled to join Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.

“As a pediatric hospitalist, I love being able to provide exceptional hospital care to children within the community that I am a part of,” said Dr. Hester. “Essentia offers a number of pediatric subspecialties and supportive services as well as neonatal and pediatric intensive care. This allows me to care for children with complex medical needs as well as those with acute illness while having the appropriate resources to escalate their care beyond the pediatric team if needed.”

Dr. Hester earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She completed her pediatrics residency and her pediatric hospitalist medicine fellowship at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

“Early in my training, we used ‘the child first and always’ as a guiding principle, and I stay true to that mindset,” said Dr. Hester. “As a parent myself, I know how important it is to have your voice heard when it comes to the care of your child and family. I believe that a collaborative and family centered approach is crucial in order to help a child and family get through their illness safely and quickly.”
