Fellowship Eligibility
To qualify for the Essentia Health Obstetrics Fellowship, you must:
- Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Have completed a three-year family medicine residency program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
- Hold or be eligible for a Minnesota medical license
- Hold or be eligible for board certification
- Have a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration Number that allows you to write prescriptions
Essentia Health doesn’t sponsor visas for this fellowship.
How to Apply
Email our program coordinator, Christina Marshall, to request an application.
Return the completed application by mail along with your:
- Board certificate, if applicable
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Medical school diploma and transcripts
- OB procedure logs
- Personal statement
- Residency certificate, if complete
- Three letters of recommendation, including one from your current program director
Submission Deadline
Submit your application January 1 through September 15 for the fellowship year starting in July of the following year.
On-Site Interview
After we review your completed application, we may invite you to join us for an on-site interview.
Notification Date
You can expect to hear from us no later than December 1.
