Ronald McDonald House Northland
At Essentia Health, we believe that the only thing families should have to worry about while their child is in the hospital is helping them heal.
That’s why we have partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities Upper Midwest and our community of donors to open the Ronald McDonald House to the Northland in February 2021. The house is a beautiful five-bedroom respite home—providing families of pediatric patients in need with a comfortable and nearby place to stay, play and heal together.
“The Ronald McDonald House is called a house, and not a hotel, because it does become people’s homes. It’s a place for them to recharge, a place for them to have respite. We are really excited to bring this mission here to Duluth.”

The house provides private overnight rooms for up to five families and serves nine meals a week to each family—all at no cost to them. Each year the Essentia Health foundation funds the operating expenses of $346,000 annually, funded by your donations.
With your generous support, this special project provides comfort and healing to thousands of pediatric patient families. Thank you for being a part of our mission!
