At Essentia Health, our EMS is part of an integrated care team ranging from our professional pre-hospital staff to our highly skilled emergency department caregivers. Your care will be coordinated throughout your emergency.
EMS is an emergency room on wheels bringing advanced equipment and highly trained professionals to the scene of your emergency.

Emergency Medical Service Locations
At Essentia Health, each of our fourteen hospitals and seven ambulance services provide emergency medical services throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and North Dakota. Our ambulance service provides 911 response to 4,900 square miles in 10 counties.

EHEMS responds to 13,000 requests for service annually, including 911, interfacility transfer, mutual aid, and intercept calls

Primary response to an area close to 4,900 square miles in ten counties which includes:
- Aitkin, Becker, Carlton, Cass, Itasca, Kanabec, Norman, Pine, Polk, and St. Louis

What type of services do you provide?
We provide 911 response, interfacility transportation, and community event coverage (rodeos, We Fest, high school and college sporting events, stock car races, etc.)

Where do you provide Community Paramedics?
Our Communities Paramedics can be found in Ada, Brainerd, Deer River, Detroit Lakes, Duluth, and Fargo.
