Essentia's family medicine doctors are trained to care for all members of your family, including your kids. We also offer primary and specialty care for children birth to age 21, which is provided by pediatricians and pediatric specialists.

Pediatric Primary Care

Coordinated Care

Your child’s family medicine doctor or pediatrician will refer you to pediatric specialists when needed. You can count on this team to work together and care for your child as if they were their own. Parents can access their child's medical record via Essentia's MyChart portal. With MyChart, you can schedule appointments with your child's family medicine doctor or pediatrician and communicate with their care team online. i

Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota, offers exceptional pediatric care for families living in the Northland. Our pediatric floor is specially designed for children and includes an on-site kitchen. We also have a solarium lounge where kids can hang out and play video games and pinball.

Our pediatric intensive care unit is located on the same floor and is staffed by pediatric intensivists 24/7. You can feel confident your child will get care that meets the highest standards because St. Mary’s Children’s Hospital is a member of the National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related Institutions.

Depend on our child life specialists to help your child feel comfortable while they receive care on Essentia's downtown campus in Duluth, Minnesota. Child life specialists provide emotional support while guiding families through their health care journey.
